DUCCIO - ARPADOMINIPROJECT

My name is Duccio and I am an Italian harp player who spent many years working on his project, related to the new instrument created.
I projected and created my own harp which is tuned and played in a very untraditional way.
The harp with special technique is covered by an Italian Patent.

I have composed 17 songs, genre pop-rock, using my own lyrics, running-time 80’, recorded by P.C., myself playing electric guitar and keyboards as well as singing.

The harp can also be used adding melodies on already existing songs, meaning the possibility to join existing bands, willing to have a new instrument.

As I said before the most important use of the harp is to compose songs, with access to melodies that have been off limits for the traditional harps, because of the narrow expressive range of those instruments.

I have written a book (2005): “Diritto ed Arte - Autobiografia per Arpa Rovesciata” (“Law and Art – Autobiography of a Reversed Harp”), that tells the story of my harp and deals with my experience as an inventor and composer.

I am planning to develop my project by:
-  creating a Web School for this new harp;
-  creating 4-5 harps from the prototype I made 15 years ago;
- teaching to other people my way to play the new instrument;
- recording and producing a video DVD to show the use of the new instrument .

In past years I’ve been in Frankfurt (Musikmesse, March 2007), in Cologne (Cologne on Pop, August 2007), and in Berlin (Popkomm, September 2007), as an exhibitor, obtaining a very strong and positive reaction from visitors to my stands.
In January 2008 I have been at MIDEM in Cannes (France) exhibiting on stand “Italia in Musica”, getting closer than before to the idea of creating the web school for the “reversed harp”, but unfortunately, for worldwide financial crisis and lack of funds, the project, right now, is not moving.

Therefore I am still searching for musicians representatives of every country in the world and I need the help of some sponsor to cover costs.

I am able to show 3 hours performance with the reversed harp.
On stage I usually wear tie.

Public events related to Cross Media Platforms and Exhibitors seems the right place to have both, musicians and funds, and - in my opinion - will be really appropriate on showing my new musical instrument and its applications. 

I am planning to record as soon as possible some video with a good audio,  to get people interested on my harp on rising fund to make 4-5 harps, find new musicians to play them, produce a video with songs from new musicians to spread the use of the new harp worldwide!!
