On Friday 3 November 2017, Milton Keynes Dons and Hyde United played their FA Cup First Round tie at Ewen Fields, the home of Hyde United.

Unfortunately, shortly before the scheduled 7.55pm kick-off, a flare was thrown onto the Ewen Fields pitch, causing a small fire resulting in thousands of pounds worth of damage to the artificial surface.

Supporters recognise that Hyde United had already battled through several qualifying rounds to reach the first round and as a non-league club being featured on live television, were due a considerable financial reward.

Several MK Dons supporters who attended the game were additionally impressed by the welcoming atmosphere and generosity shown by staff at Hyde United, some of whom had their taxi fares to their hotels paid for by the club directors.

Hyde United's Chief Executive Mark Worthington recently revealed the money generated by live tv coverage was intended to be used for community projects , and not for the first team itself.

Unfortunately much of that financial reward will now be used to repair the senseless damage caused prior the FA Cup game.

In the spirit of the FA Cup, MK Dons supporters via this GoFundMe campaign would like to raise money to contribute towards the cost of repair as a gesture of goodwill. All funds raised will be passed to Hyde United FC.

The campaign will run until Friday 17 November 2017. Our initial target is £1,000 however all funds raised will be directly passed to Hyde United FC regardless of the total figure.

This campaign was launched by members of AFC TCR  - the unofficial MK Dons forum, and was suggested by forum member Alby. GoFundMe page created and managed by forum member FilthyDon.

**FINAL UPDATE** - Campaign has now ended! Thank you to everyone who has contributed to this campaign, a huge £1,500 raised beating our target by 50%. All money donated will be 'officially' handed over to Hyde United at their next home game at Ewen Fields against Tadcaster Albion on Saturday 2nd December, with representatives of the campaign and MK Dons supporters attending the game.

Special thanks to Margaret and Adam Faiers, as well as the numerous others involved in promoting the effort on social media, and once again big thanks to all those who donated their hard earned cash to help another football club.

Finally, thanks to both Hyde United and MK Dons for their backing throughout.

**UPDATE - 7/11/17** Many thanks to those who have contributed so far, only six hours in and already over a quarter of the way to our goal having raised £285 so far. Some very generous donations including several £25 contributions.

Thanks to those sharing this campaign on social media, in particular Connor (@connor_mkd) on Twitter.

Things will likely start to slow down from tommorow, but it's looking increasingly likely that we will achieve and surpass our £1,000 target, all of which will be headed to Hyde United FC.

Thanks again to everyone that has kindly contributed to this campaign so far.
