Abington Loves Grace Memorial Fund
My name is Andrea Adams and I started this page to collect funds in order to give Grace Packer a proper memorial service. All of the money raised is going to pay for the service. Since we raised more than our original goal, we also decided to start a foundation called On Gracie's Wings. This foundation will assist foster children with the sometimes difficult transition into independent living. We will also support women and children that have been victims of domestic violence. As a mother of a 14 year old son that attended the same school as Grace, I was deeply concerned when I heard that Grace Packer was missing. Abington is a very small, safe and close-knit community. This fact made her disappearance even more disturbing. Now that the authorities have found her and given the circumstances that have been reported, I created this page as a way to give Grace a proper homegoing service. Everyone that knew Grace says that she was a sweet and kind young woman that had a heart for those with special needs. All of the proceeds of this fund will go to the planning and execution of a memorial service to honor Grace. Any remaining funds will be used as a scholarship award given in Grace's honor to a deserving student with special needs. We would also like to make a donation to a local charity that provides children dealing with domestic violence a safe place to go. Feel free to to check us out on Facebook for the date, time and location of Grace's service. Rest in Peace Grace Packer.
Grace Packer was an amazing child. Although she endured a lifetime of trauma and pain, suffering and mistrust, she still managed to always have an angelic smile and brought hope and love to those around her.
Five Abington mothers all came together with the community of Abington on January 16 and gave Grace the memorial she deserved.
The five mothers were so inspired by Grace that we are now working on creating a nonprofit organization called “On Gracie’s Wings”. Through this foundation, we are going to offer a scholarship for a special education student in the Abington School District. We are also going to fill suitcases with personal items for foster children so these children have something of their own to bring to their new homes. We are also going to help children when they turn 18 years old transition into independent housing. Many children when they turn 18 and are no longer in the foster care system are forced to go out in the world with nothing, no family, and nowhere to go. We five moms are going to change this and help in any way we can.
We are going to honor Grace’s name and turn this tragedy into something powerful. We will be the voice of these children that need us, and that need love and need someone to genuine care about them.
We plan on holding fundraisers throughout the year to help support our nonprofit organization.
Anyone who would like to assist please contribute here or email firstname.lastname@example.org for other volunteer opportunities.
Gracie, you will never be forgotten. Fly high baby girl.
These children need someone to be able to talk to and trust when they are being abused. I work with children and know first hand the things that go on in homes. People adopt for one of 2 reasons. One is to Love and care for a needy child. The other is to collect money because when you adopt a child you get money
God bless Grace
I love you so much babygirl Christmas isn't the same without you. You'll always be in my heart and never gonna be forgotten.❣
I would like to see the date for the Memorial service. What is the Facebook page? Thank you for thinking about this special girl. Just horrible what happened to her.
