College Tuition & Medical Bills
Hello everyone.
Attached here is a copy of my last statement for my tuition bill. As you can see, I am pretty lucky to have a large scholarship that covers most of my bill, but after the scholarship I still owed $1737. This semester I was able to scrape it together, barely, but the next tuition payment is due starting in January.
After making this payment at the beginning of October, I am literally broke. I have been eating leftovers from club functions around campus and skipping meals because I cannot afford groceries. I make about $300 per month at my job, but this is not enough. On top of bare necessities and tuition, I still need to pay for a train pass ($150/month) and doctor’s bills from when I broke my foot in 2017.
I am so late on payments that the hospital is suing me now. I woe about 1700 in total to the hospital. They've agreen to a payment plan that is about $75 per month... so basically my whole paycheck is gone and I have very little left to put into savings towards tuition.
Currently I have less than $500 in my checking account. I am actually switching banks soon because my bank, Chase, requires a minimum of a $1500 balance to keep checking accounts open without incurring a $15/month fee.
As soon as January I am going to owe my college another $1750. By that time if I scrimp and save ever cent that I do not need to soend on essential food/toiletries/transportation (which I am basically already doing), I will only have $900 AT THE MOST to my name.
I really, REALLY do not want to make a post asking for money. But I am desperate at this point. I don’t know what to do. I already have two jobs and I am currently applying for a third. I have applied for every scholarship possible but things are not looking good right now. I need help.
