Dear Friends,
My name is Shamirah Franco-Bral, the wife of Steven W. Bral.
His children and I decided to make this gofundme campaign on behalf of my husband and their father.
We have created it using Steven's own facebook account in order to reach all of his friends.
Steven Bral, is an International Airline Pilot and a very hard working man and a good father.
Back in 2012 he was living and working in Muscat Oman.....
Most recently, on March 3rd, he was delivering an Airplane and landed in Muscat-Oman for the first since 2012 .
On that day he was detained and arrested due to a Credit Card Dispute and told he owed the bank the amount of $44,600.00 .
Steven's first attempt was to contact the US Embassy and they told him that Unfortunately they can not stop the Bank from raising the demanded amount.
Also, if he does not pay in a week the bank could open another case for even more money.
Oman is a country under the Sharia Law which makes it illegal to have any unpaid debt and you can be arrested and imprisoned for such.
In Oman banks have the power to have someone arrested and held indefinately until the payment is made in full.
Steven is trying to negotiate with the bank the original amount but due to Oman Law they refuse to release him from jail until he meets the demand of $44,600.00 which is an unreasonable amount, making this impossible for us to pay.
Steven is being held in a 6' by 6' cell along with several men and they are sleeping on the Concrete Floor .
He has been told that he can be held even for life without the full payment.
We the Family of Steven Bral would like to ask our Friends to embrance our pain and share this message helping Steven return to home and his family.
We are praying God works through this campaign and helps us through good people who can help with any amount they can, it will help us to have Steven Bral freed.
