The Vanderpool Family needs us now more than ever! Whether you are close to the family or complete strangers, I feel after reading this post you will be touched by their love for Lord and the difficult journey they've had to embark on. They desperately need our help through prayer and support.

My name is Haley and Roxanne and Corey have been two of my bestfriends since childhood. I am the God Mother to their two little girls and I have joined together with a group of close friends and family to campaign for Corey, Roxanne, Charlee and Remy during this time in their lives. Please read my friend's story and help if you are able!

As many of you know, The Vanderpool family has endured a long road to try and get Corey the ultimate healing his body has needed from Crohn's Disease the past 6 months. Through multiple surgeries, hospital stays, and raising two girls under two, this road hasn't been easy on them by any means. As their bestfriend and someone who loves them dearly, I have watched them go through the hardest year I can remember in their 12 years together.  Through the ups and downs, they have clung to each other and their faith.

Right when they thought the worst part of this journey was coming to an end, they were given news no parents should ever have to endure. Their sweet Remy was diagnosed with a rare bone disorder called Osteopetrosis. In this disease your body does not make "osteoclasts" which are responsible for breaking old bone down. This causes the bones to become very hard and brittle and easy to break. Along with this the bone marrow which is located within the bone and produces cells to the body is not able to do its job properly. This can lead to low blood counts and anemia. This disorder has many risks that could lead to blindness, deafness and could cause damage to some of the major organs in the body. The current treatment for Remy to be able to live a healthy life is a bone marrow transplant. This is not only a risky procedure that involves chemotherapy and immunosupressants, which would put Remy at a high risk for infection, it is also very expensive and not always covered by health insurance.

Whether you have children of your own or not I am sure you can all imagine the devastation Roxanne and Corey have felt recieving this news. Remy will be treated at the Cincinnati Childrens Hospital and their family will have to pack up and relocate to Cincinnati for atleast 6 months as Remy undergoes these procedures. Depending upon what circumstances arise this could keep Roxanne and Corey from being able to work for several months. They have already endured financial hardship due to the past year and surgeries they have had to face with Corey's illness.

With that being said... I know this family better than anyone. I brought them together 12 years ago in Middle School. Roxanne being my best friend,  I had to introduce her to her neighbor down the street which was Corey! I have been there for all the high's and unfortunately have  had to watch them go through the hardest year of their lives while feeling helpless myself to their situation. There are no two people that I know that are more God-centered, more giving, dependable, loving, forgiving, strong, and have the best two hearts! They are always the first ones to support their family and friends. I know first hand the impact they have had on my life which is unexplainable! The least we can do is help them in their desperate time of need. I know I am not alone in this. I know many of you have been touched by Roxanne or Corey and want to do your part in helping them overcome this battle and I could think of no better way than to donate whatever you are able for their cause! The financial burden they are about to face is far more than anyone is able to handle especially a young family with two babies under the age of two. I am asking you to first or foremost please pray for my bestfriends and their sweet family and if you are able, to please donate any amount you can! There are no two people who would be more grateful. They have spent their lives helping others and now we need to help them! Thank you!
