309- The Punk Museum - Phase 1
Our idea is to create a punk house that everyone "owns." While mostly serving as a collective house, our rough idea is to make this a collective landmark for punk--not just local punk, too.
Our original plan called for raising $14,000 for a multitude of pieces to the first phase. After reevaluation, we're starting this campaign with the non-profit status first. We believe this will help raise money and give the project more transparency and legitimacy, not only with our donors but also with the community. Therefore, the new goal is $2,000.
Over the years, photographers, painters, writers, activists, and (of course) musicians have lived in 309. We're hoping that through our efforts, we'll be able to preserve this unique part of Pensacola's cultural history as well as provide a great service to the worldwide punk community.
Our goal is fairly simple: Fix what needs to be repaired on the century old home, preserve the integrity of what 309 has become since it started as a punk house, save it for the community, give a home for artists/punk researchers, and allow a space for future generations to appreciate our beautiful and culturally rich community.
To do so, we'll need your help. Please consider donating generously. All money raised will go directly to the project. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Thank you so much.
As always, thank you for your continued support. It means more to us than you could ever know. <3
Phase One is done! We reached our first goal, and now on for the next goal!!! Terry and I wanted to thank you all for the support and very generous donations. You're all amazing people, and we couldn't have reached this goal without you. So much love to each and every one of you. <3
