Terri's Brain Surgery Recovery Fund

This GoFundMe is for Terri Landt, owner of TNT Corals. A dear friend and long time reefer, who happens to be one of the most genuine, kind hearted people I know just recently opened up to me in one of our many long conversations about how she was diagnosed 3 years ago with a brain tumor after doctors had told her she was (colon) cancer free for about 4 years. Terri was having problems with her neck so she went and had an MRI. The doctors found something that would soon turn her world around for the worst. They spotted a tumor on a major vein in her *cerebellum. She had spoken to a neurosurgeon and they said that it probably was not cancerous, but suggested that they just watch it. Since speaking to the neurosurgeon and keeping a close eye on the tumor, it has grown larger every year. Her and her husband spoke further with the doctors about the likely hood for surgery at some point to remove this tumor. The surgeon informed them that with the growth rate he had seen, there is a possibility she could die from other causes even before the actual removal of the tumor. (Terri is in her 60's so surgery is extremely risky.) Three weeks ago, Terri went for another MRI and consult with the neurosurgeon in hope that there would be some good news. The surgeon had told her that this tumor had grown more and he actually recommended she goes through with surgery, despite the risks because it is putting pressure on the cerebellum and it will only continue to worsen. The longer she waits, the older she gets only puts her at risk for more problems. The surgeon will not be able to remove the entire tumor because it is on a major vein. If the vein were cut/punctured, she would bleed out on the operating table. But they will be able to find out if it is cancer. Because of her having to get this surgery, she will not have the time or physical ability to care for the corals and maintain her business. She will have a long recovery after her surgery. She recently gave all of her corals to a friend because she is preparing for this major surgery. I know this hobby is one of her biggest passions and I hope she will be able to get back into it once she is fully recovered. Terri did not ask me to do this, but I know she is going to need help financially through this journey. So that is why I am starting this GoFund to give back to someone who has given so much time, effort and compassion into this hobby. *cerebellum; the part of the brain at the back of the skull in vertebrates. Its function is to coordinate and regulate muscular activity.
