3 Year Old Pup in Critical Condition

Donation protected

Einstein, our beloved 3 year-old dog, has fallen critically sick since last Saturday, March 16th. His first onset of symptoms included vomiting for days, loss of appetite, and an inability to hold down fluids. He’s been hospitalized for 3 nights so far and is going on his 4th night tonight. What we and our primary vets thought could have been a simple operation for a blockage, actually turned into an unknown potential disease with the thickening of the intestinal tract.

To this day, we still don’t know what is going on even with constant doctor updates throughout the days. To make matters worse, we are not in the best financial situation right now to continue affording Einstein’s care that seem to keep compounding each day by the $1,000’s. This morning, he just became stable enough to do an endoscopy and that with the initial treatment already has cost us $5,000. We don’t have any pet insurance (we will certainly get some after this incident), so we have to pay everything upfront and possibly take out a loan to take care of him. And to make matters more urgent, I just had an out-of-pocket surgery 2 weeks ago, so the timing of this is very ill-opportune.

If you want to help Einstein get back on his four paws again, any donation as small as $1 will be greatly appreciated. There is no time limit for donation, but for us, the sooner the better as we have no idea how high the bills can get (but they are soaring each day).

This is our first dog together and seeing that he is only 3 years-old and having complications already, the situation is really heartbreaking. If you meet Einstein or see his page on Instagram with his sister (@EinsteinAndNala), you can immediately see how much of a happy and friendly dog he is. Even though he has a dope-y looking face sometimes that resembles Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh, his heart is always full of joy when he sees someone give him love (or treats). He loves to hop, skip, play ball, and eat human food (although we try to limit that). He does a ton of fun tricks like “rollover, bang bang, and jump”, and is known to console me (Kasey/mommy) whenever I cry. He is a very smart and loving dog – his EQ is scary high. Speaking as the mommy, Einstein is my first dog, and I never expected to see such complications at this young of an age.

Once again, thank you for taking the time to read this and if you decide to help Einstein, him and us will be “fur-ever” grateful.

Side note: To all the pet owners out there, we wish you and your pets long and healthy lives. And please get pet insurance if you haven’t already for emergency situations like this.

Best wishes,

Kasey, Jay, and Nala
