I'm not a person that asks for help very easily. Due to some serious medical issues that have come up I feel that I need to ask now. After experiencing some issues , and going for a few different test. I was diagnosed with 1b1 cervical cancer on 8/18/16. We will just refer to it as Ursula cancer is just a horrible word. On the 18 th I went and saw an oncologist and we got a quick action plan in place. I will be having a radical hysterectomy on September 2nd to remove Ursula . After that I should be cancer free. I am in great spirits and very positive I'm going to be ok. My surgery is pretty invasive and I will have a 6-8 week recovery with a hope to return to work within 2-4 weeks based on healing. I do have insurance but not 100% coverage I am responsible for 20% . Right now my surgery is estimated at 18,000.00 so I would be responsible for 3600.00 of that. I also will have follow up visits and co pays and other expenses that I may not even know about. I do have short term disability but will not kick in right away and is only a % of my normal pay. I am so thankful I work for a company and a spa that offer these benefits. This is why I'm asking for help not working for 4-6 weeks I don't know it could be longer based on healing and my disability not kicking in right away, Really has me worried and stressing and I'm reaching out for some help to put my mind at ease so I can focus on getting better and know things are taken care of money wise.
