Peter and Melissa, along with their fur babies Blue, Benson and Milo, are my neighbors and friends. On 11/9/16 they lost their apartment in a devastating fire.
Although everyone was initially rescued, their health status declined extremely fast. On top of that they lost most of their belongings to the damage but more importantly, their pets are suffering from smoke inhalation and all three are currently in the ICU getting constant medical attention.
Regardless of Milo & Blue making great progreess, they need to stay in an oxygen chamber and be monitored. The expenses are estimated to be $2,000 per day, per pet. Today is Milo's last day in the ICU, and possibly Blue's. Benson has to stay for a couple more days.
With that being said, their current vet bill is estimated close to $10,000. They are desperately trying to raise the remanded of what they are unable to pay.
They lost everything they have in the fire, most of it due to significant smoke damage. This includes clothing, food, blankets, chargers, baby & pet supplies and much much more.
Melissa is currently just over 3 months pregnant with their first child, They don't have a home anymore and worry about stress during pregnancy.
