Ky's Family Needs Help
Donation protected
This is taking a lot of guts to do but at the current moment we are at our wits end.
Some backstory for those who don't know: on September 7th Kim and I went to Abrazo Arrowhead to have our last ultrasound. During this there was some concern about our baby and his heart. They ordered an echocardiogram at a pediatric cardiologist for Friday the 9th. We went to this and were told that the baby seems to have "some thinning around the aorta and would need to have his heart checked 12 hours after his birth". Kim also had a stress test that day at Abrazo Scottsdale (as we had been doing twice weekly). During the test she had a contraction and the baby's heart rate drop to drastic levels. They asked her to stay for a few more hours to observe her and the baby. During that time it happened twice more and they made the decision to give her an emergency c-section. Our baby Ky Axl Baez was born on September 9th at 7:09pm. Not even two and a half hours later the doctors made the decision to send him to the NICU (Newborn Intensive Care Unit) at Phoenix Children's Hospital. He was admitted that night and I followed to stay with my son.
We stayed there for a bit of time as they tested, retested, checked, poked, and observed Ky. It was a trying time for all of us. During that time I took leave from my job to stay and care for him which cut into any income we had coming in and the bills starting to roll in.
Ky was born with a Corartician of the aorta and has also been classified as partially deaf due to mixed hearing loss. His insurance is trying to not pay for the ambulance ride to PCH from Abrazo Scottsdale as well as trying to push cost of his hearing aides onto us. This is also causing issues with is being able to pay our bills and keep the roof over our heads. I have returned to work but have only gotten one paycheck in that time and it sadly was not enough to ease the situation.
We are asking for any help you could possibly give us. We are also willing to give back to any and all donators whether it be doing tasks for you, helping with household chores, or paying you back when we can. This is new to us, so I'm not sure if we're supposed to say that but we just feel it's right.
Thank you for hearing our story and considering help
Love to you all
