Trisha qualified for the 2016 Team USA team going to Olympic Hopes in Sezged, Hungary. As one of the youngest athletes on the team, she is excited to have this opportunity to compete internationally in a sport she loves.
The Olympic Hopes Regatta was created to inspire young athletes and create a future legacy for sprint canoe and sprint kayaking. The competition will be intense, but Trisha has trained for three years for it, especially this last year as she trained six days a week all year-round, in all kinds of weather.

All-weather kayaking isn't completely new to Trisha.
In March 2013, in the pouring rain, Trisha tried out for the Gig Harbor Canoe and Kayak Racing Team. She stayed upright in the training kayak and impressed the coach with her cheerful demeanor in the cold, spring rain; her willingness to take directions, and her balance. She was invited to join the team and spent only three months moving from a training kayak to an ICF sprint kayak - a much narrower, "tippier" boat.

In the last three years, she has grown and improved as an athlete, gaining medals for team boats and individual boats at every Nationals she has attended. She loves this sport and works hard to improve her technique with every practice on the water.

At the Olympic Hopes Regatta, Trisha will compete in team boats with up to four kayakers in a boat and in individual kayak races. The competition will be fierce for young women kayakers, but Trisha is excited for the honor of competing with Team USA at this event.
The money from this campaign will be used solely for airfare, hotel costs, training costs (in Hungary), and the competition.
