Hi All,
Many of you may not be aware, but Jemuel London was rushed to hospital about 3 weeks ago with pain and discomfort around his stomach.
During these last 3 weeks, he has been in hospital for the vast majority of the time.
The doctors initially had failed to determine his exact condition and up until Monday the 25th of July he will still in quite severe discomfort and still in hospital. They eventually diagnosed him with severe pancreatitis.
On the morning of the Tuesday 26th, his conditioned worsened and the doctors admitted him to ICU. Soon after doctors decided to operate on him and during the operation, his condition became quite critical and lost 3.5 litres of blood through the course of the operation. Doctors feared Jemuel experienced trauma in various major organs including his lungs and his heart. For days he was in mechanical ventilator to prevent serious damage in his lungs. He has still been in hospital over the last few weeks, whilst the doctors have been monitoring him. He is now on the mend and ready to be discharged out of hospital in the coming days.
Over the course of the last few weeks, with all the tests, care, surgery and medicine, Jemuel has consumed all of his annual (HMO) health allowance, which was mere 240,000 PHP ( about 7-8k AUD). His total current hospital bill is around 40,000 AUD. Jemuel’s family has been able to raise almost half of the amount though some kind donations and bank loans, but they are still left with a sizeable bill.
In the Philippines, the assistance provided by the government is limited when it comes to hospital and health care. We may moan about medicare and the public health system in Australia, but compared to what there is in the Philippines, we are very privileged to have this in Australia. In times such as this, Filipinos rely on family, friends and collegues to help them with any financial assistance.
With this in mind, I urge any of you to please donate and help Jemuel out. Any monetary donation will go along way to help out Jemuel and his family.
I have created this gofundme page whereby we can all donate and provide assistance to him.
For many of you who have worked with Jeem or had the privilege to meet him you know that he is a tireless and honest worker who always goes the extra mile to get things done. He is 42 Years young, a great family man with a wife named Leizel and 2 young boys who he loves spending time with. Jemuel a few years back visited Australia to workin in Melbourne for 6 weeks. During his time he loved Australia and has grown to love Aussie Rules Football. He has come along to support the Philippine Eagles in some of their local Manila Cup tournaments.
He is a great colleague and also a great friend of mine.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to pass this on to anyone and spread the word
