Help for handicap accessible van

After long discussions between my Dad, Mom and I, and asking for advice from others, we decided to create this campaign. He has agreed to share this on his page, as well as my Moms.
On March 12th, 2018, my Dad suffered a major stroke which left him paralyzed on his left side.

He had to have surgery to relieve the swelling of his brain which required removing a portion of his skull then more surgery weeks later to replace that section of his skull.

Following the stroke and surgeries, he spent 100 days at a rehabilitation center trying to regain even just a fraction of the motor skills he lost.

Our family was always by his side and never missed a day of visiting with him, holding him up when he didn’t think he could go on and cheering for him during the little and big victories.

He returned home on July 6th, and although it was a significant adjustment for all of us, it was terrific to have him back home.

Unfortunately, on July 23rd, while in the parking lot of the VA Medical facilities in Calcutta, OH, he had another stroke which triggered a seizure. My Uncle and I were with him at the time, and the fantastic team at the VA immediately jumped in to help.

He was airlifted to UPMC in Pittsburgh and is currently at an acute rehab facility where he'll be receiving intense physical therapy once again. He is a fighter, but we still have a such a long road ahead of us.
With the extremely generous help from his sisters, Carol, Cathy, Mary and Linda, we've been able to obtain legal counsel for all his needs, and they've also provided transportation to and from PA and to appointments. They have all been an amazing Rock for my Dad, and for my Mom. We can't thank them enough.

My dad served his country during the Vietnam War, surviving 2 helicopter crashes, and returning home safe and sound. He is an amazing Husband, Father, and Grandfather and we just want to help make his quality of life the best it can be.

This is not easy to ask, but in order to transport my Dad around when he returns home, we're going to need to get a new vehicle that will accommodate a wheelchair. Since the household has lost a member at this time, and I will need to take time off here and there soon to help care for him until his VA benefits for home care kick in, we could also use some financial help with necessities. All funds go directly to my Mom for a down payment for said vehicle.
Currently he's doing well with rehab and has been able to take 20 steps, assisted, while holding a rail. Amazing strides considering what he's been through. It's all up to him, how hard he's willing to work, and the continued support from our family and friends.
If you can find it in your heart to help even a little, it would be greatly appreciated by our entire family. Even a share is amazing, and appreciated.
