Tabitha's NYLF Film&Journalism Fund

My name is Tabitha De Lion, and I've just been invited to the National Youth Leadership Forum in New York because of my hard work in school. I am currently in podcasting, drama, class historian, student council, the schools stars club, a column in a local newspaper and I have started my own teen run magazine. Unfortunately there is a big cost to this program, one that my parents cannot afford. My parents always give me the best that they can. They always support my career choice in any way they can. My father started doing background work in film to one day get me a foot in the door when I graduate college.  My mother has been working non-stop just to get me through high school. People say where you come from defines who you are and your levels of success. I personally don't believe that, where I come from the success rate is low, but I wouldn't let that stop me. I've struggled throughout most of my grammar school years with low grades and always feeling like the outcast, I was bullied and just really disliked going to school for that reason. I transferred to another school in 7th grade and started doing much better. I wouldn't let all those bad things stop me. I've been doing better in school, I've gotten more involved in school programs and other things to help me persue my career. This program is something that I really want to do and is a big step in my future career. My family got together and came up with the deposit I needed to enroll but now I need the help from all of you to help make my dream come true. I have four monthly payments of $900 as well as travel expenses so whatever you can offer would be greatly appreciated.  From the bottom of my heart I thank you in advance for your support.
