Help Colin Kick Cancers Ass Fund
Hey All!! Thanks for taking a moment to read about one of the best humans I've had the priviledge of knowing in this life.
Colin is a goofy, easy going and sometimes shy guy. He's a loyal friend, and a little mischievous but all around stand up dude. He would do just about anything for a friend or family member.
We have recently found out that our good friend Colin has been diagnosed with cancer at the age of 27. I'm having a hard time even writing this to not think this whole situation is surreal or just a dream. But then reality sets in and realizing that this young vibrant soul now has this burden to bear. How can something so horrible happen to such an amazing person??
As far as we know now he has a tumor in his stomach, liver, upper colon, and possibly his lungs. The cancer is in his lymph system and he has thousands of polyps in each affected area. We are currently waiting to hear the results of all the biopsies to see the extent of the damage, and to hear the treatment plan from the doctors. As of right now they think he will need chemo, radiation and surgery to fight it. With all that being said we are currently raising funds to help him pay for these costly treatments. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. On behalf of Colin, his family and friends thanks so much for your support.
Just a quick update on Colin. They have placed the port to administer his chemo, and he has his first round on Tuesday. He has had some trouble acquiring his meds this past week. He is still in the process of filing for assistance, so fortunately the Cancer Foundation has paid for his first round of meds. However, each pill for one of the many he has been prescribed cost over $2000 per pill. He takes 4 of these ridiculously expensive pills per dose. So please share/donate if you can. If you can't donate and still want to help PM me as there are lots of other things that you may be able to help with. Thanks so much for your ongoing support.
Just a quick update on Colin. He met with the doctors today, they seem to think his lungs are bad enough to not pursue a surgery route right now. So they are going to be putting a portal in his chest to administer chemo among other things. This will keep him from having to get tons of catheters for future treatments. It sounds like they will be starting chemo in the coming weeks. He meets with another round of doctors on Tuesday of next week so we will have more information then. Keep him in your prayers and keep up the good work by sharing as often as you can.
Quick update on Colin:
They have released him from the hospital for now. He does in fact have cancer in his lungs after all. He goes back to meet with his doctors to discuss his treatment plan next week.
If you live in the Lexington area, we are putting together a fund raiser to benefit Colin. Not sure of the details yet but we'd love for you all to join us!!
Again, thank you all
Wondering if you have the route posted somewhere in detail? Trying to get other friends involved. If not try strava.com or similar, Thanks!!
