Rebuilding Our Life After Losing All

Donation protected

Hello everyone. First and foremost, as I write this crying, I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart that has reached out to my family to let us know that we are loved and we aren't alone. On October 17, 2016, at 1 am, our lives changed forever. Our dreams were ablaze...our hopes shattered, and our hearts were ripped from our chests. A fire burned our home. My wonderful mother and beautiful little sister escaped by pure miracle that night. They bravely risked their lives to save their house, sustaining deep, painful burns and smoke inhalation that both could have been fatal. Anyone that knows my mother knows she's a beautiful caring woman, that would give the shirt off of her back to any stranger, she loves her family and would do and give anything for us...that she loves God...that she loved music, loved to dance, loved to cook and loved to laugh...and that she loved her house so very much. Her love, her life, her everything...was that house. She was SO proud of it, always inviting her friends over, showing them her green thumb in her garden and always welcoming them back. Nelly, a single mother that worked hard everyday to keep her house...watched helplessly it as burned. They are being treated for their injuries, Cynthias a little more serious. But their doctors say they can recover. Cynthia underwent surgery today, Oct. 19, and it went well. They will recover thank God, but unfortunately, all of their clothes, pictures, precious possessions...everything they owned...perished that night. They were left with only their charred clothing and the horrible memory of the traumatizing event that will forever haunt them. Today I ask you, friends and family or any kind person reading this, if you can find it in your hearts to contribute anything you can to help my mother and sister rebuild and start all over. I know my mother and sister have touched all of you in some way, as they love everyone they know. Also, I ask you, friends and family or the kind soul taking the time to read our story, please pray. Thank you for everything. -Stephanie Gaitan.
