LOKIE'S RECOVERY

Loki an energetic lab border collie mix whom we thought we were rescuing when we adopted him..he really rescued us. He has given us so much joy and love every day with his quirky personality (hence Loki the god of mischief). Tuesday our poor boy got into some rodenticide while we were camping , we induced vomiting and were at the vet in 20 min. Loki was given medication to make him vomit as well as activated charcoal to help bind the toxins. The vet said we acted quickly and he shouldn't have neurological effects(420.00), However on Thursday he would not eat and was lethargic..then began vomiting blood and bloody diarrhea. We rushed to vet who did x-rays and stool sample to check for paresites(276.85),and sent us to the specialty animal hospital. An emergency exam Stat CBC/chemistry electrolyte panel, coagulation PT/APTT IH (463.00). The results showed Loki had severe neutropenia (low imature neutrophils). Loki had painful In flamed ulcerations in his mouth and throat causing hemoptesis when he vomites..was given another bill estimate for his care for the overnight. Hospitalization iv catheter electrolyte management, pain med, anti nausea, anti diarrhea ,antibiotics .(1,151.63) The following day he was seen by an internist sonogram more blood work medication.. Hospitalization continued iv and long kit of medications increased pain meds.. for 2 to 3 days totalling 3951.00 to 5865.00 Loki had given us so much thru the years and is a sweet boy whom we love so much. Please help us to support his care he is starting to gain strength Any help you could provide will help us to maintain his care and medications on the road ahead to recovery
