The children we support are economic refugees from Haiti who are living in the Dominican Republic. If they were not in this little school, they would be on the streets. They have a huge chance of becoming prey to drug dealers and prostitution.
Our school is 4 years old now and we have been supported through charity events, individual and small business donations. Though we consider that a huge success It has never been enough to pay our 4 teachers and they have been starving volunteers for those 4 years. If we cannot raise some money to keep them alive and healthy the school will have to close. Even this amount will be but a stipend and not a salary as that would come to $3600 each per year. Please be generous and help us honor the efforts of these great people who care so much about the children that they would starve themselves to see the kids succeed. Lets keep these 70 kids in school. $75 per year is all we need for each child to be educated and fed every day for a year. Please help those who help themselves as best they can.
