Donation protected
Monique Brathwaite, Single mother of four boys suffered a severe tragedy on October 7th Friday afternoon. While working in the subways of NYC, after tripping and being exposed to the "third rail" she was electrocuted by 600 volts of electricity and suffered 3rd degree burns on the left side of her body and both arms. After arriving to the hospital, the doctors placed Monique in a induced coma to prevent any brain damage but later found out that she doesn't have any nerves in her right hand. Monique is from Brooklyn, NY where she moved to Greensboro, NC as a teenager and eventually had 4 boys. Ages 19, 16, 12 and 7. She moved back to NY seven months ago, accepting a high risk job with Transit for the benefit of her kids and family. Monique has survived this tragedy and al though she is severely injured and will take many months of recovery. We are blessed that she is still alive and will be able to see her boys. We are doing this campaign to help support her family and bring Monique home. Monique is her children's main source of income, and is putting her oldest son through college on her own. She needs support for her family to be able to pay for school, housing bills, and traveling to come see her. Our main objective is to raise enough to support the family and be financially stable for her returning back to Greensboro after her recovery... To anyone who reads this, your help and support is much needed and appreciated..
