My name is Ryan Plackemeier.  Steven Plackemeier, my father, suffered a heart attack while swimming with his San Diego Swim Masters club team and died a week later surrounded by family and friends.

Steven's passions were swimming with his club team and helping anyone, especially the youth, to learn to swim.  He encouraged anyone he met to start swimming and provided free lessons.

This fund will be used to help fund the first annual Steven Plackemeier Carlsbad Invitational, a masters swim meet to honor my father.  It will also be used to provide free swim lessons for underprivledged children in the North San Diego area.
