Help Pay for Handicap Van

 My father, Richard Collier, has ALS and we are trying to raise funds to pay for his van. It is equipped with all of the necessities he requires like a wheel chair lift and a power inverter for supplying energy to his portable ventilator, it even charges his other accessories like his feeding pump. It is essentially his lifeline in case of a massive and long term power outage that we freqently have with severe thunderstorms here in the east Texas area. It is equipped an extra high weight capacity, liftgate because his wheel chair alone weighs 500 pounds before he or any equipment is added. He uses the van constantly for doctor appointments, pharmacy trips, and the occasional pleasure ride just to get him out of the house once and a while. Oh, let's not forget the frequent emergency room visits!

We bought it from United Access not very long ago and have been trying to pay for it. Now, unfortunately, we are  running desperately low on funds. We have gotten to where we cannot pay for it due to dad's and mom's many hospital visits and the fact that we are living on a fixed income. My mother, Kathy Collier, dedicates all of her time, 24 hours a day and seven days a week to his care. I am a full time distance learning college student so that I can be here to support my mom with his care and still continue my education. She and I work as a team to lift, turn, transfer, load, bathe and provide respiritory care. It takes both of us to provide him with the basic things he needs on a day to day basis.

Please donate whatever amount you feel comfortable with, so that we can continue to make payments on his van, that he so desperately needs, otherwise we will potentially lose it. We will be very greatful to all of you who help him keep his van.
