#STASTRONG Musicians Guild Recovery

The Unique Economy of St.Augustine was ravaged through the wrath of Hurricane Matthew. Homes were Destroyed as they were flooded with 8- 12 ft storm surge, Restaurants left useless, Cars totaled..Millions of Dollars in damage just months before our small seaside village prepares to entertain a huge tourist holiday season of business and entertainment.
Live Music is a staple of our city, our economy very much depends on it
Most musicians without renters insurance for thousands of dollars of equipment, their homes, and transportation were immediately hit with devastation upon returning to cancelled music jobs, destroyed bars that would need time to rebuild, ruined equipment and homes they would need to move out of or would require extensive repair.
Overwhelmingly our city, is all hands on deck eager to rebuild as a family. This financial effort can be shared far and wide to distant family, business associates, and fellow musicians looking to pitch in.
The Musicians Guild of St.Augustine seeks to build a fund for 12-20 of these full time music workers in an effort to relieve their families of lost income burden along with a spirit of rebuilding homes, work spaces, and tools of the trade.
All recipients will be asked to submit a thorough impact statement, with verifiable photos and will
Be presented with financial aid raised through GoFundMe and a Relief concert on November 4, 2016.

Born in 2012 by friends Jeanetta Salyer (vocals), Chris Kearnes (saxophone) and Chelsea Saddler (former guitarist), St. Augustine, Florida’s Ramona Quimby set on a mission to create a unique set list. Drawing upon cover songs that range from old favorites to dance floor bangers, tear-inducing jazz ballads to current radio hits, and even dirty old fashioned rock and roll - they managed to create a sound that couldn’t be replicated by another band. In 2014, Salyer and guitarist Alberto Cebollero decided to pursue making music as Ramona Quimby full-time, transforming the band into a nationally noted and accomplished musical force. After Salyer won The Delta Grammy contest in 2016, the momentum continued as the band embarked on a successful summer tour, performing at incredible venues and gaining national accolades along the way. Performing most often as a duo or trio, Ramona Quimby has the capacity to play in full as up to an 8 piece soul band, complete with horn section. The full band lineup includes (but is not limited to) Jeanetta Salyer (vocals). Chris Kearnes (saxophone), Alberto Cebollero (guitar and piano), Jim Johnston (guitar), Tommy Bridgewater (bass) and Kent McKinney (drums).

Retro-cover band PAPERCUTT performs hits from groups like Guns N' Roses, Poison and Def Leppard. Band members include Thorny Rose (Screeching Vocals), The Shredder (Noodling Lead Guitar), SLYDE-ON-IN (Droppin' the Bass), Tug Boat/Tony Lee (Cowbell and Drums). Due to unforeseen circumstances in the Czech Republic, Skid Mark (Taste tester and Rhythm Guitar) will be unable to attend.
