Tuskegee Army Nurses Project
Donation protected
My mother was one of the nurses who served with the Tuskegee Airmen when they were pilot cadets at Tuskegee Army Air Field during World War II. There were more than 25 nurses serving and living there on the base. The nurses outranked the cadets. They were professional nurses and officers. I have been interviewing remaining nurses and the airmen who knew them for an audio and video documentary as well as book. Hopefully, a movie may be in the works in the future. I have been financing this multi-media project out of pocket, but my funds are limited. I want to turn the project into a non-profit organization. I will soon earn my non-profit management certificate to help in this process. There is little on the Tuskegee Army nurses and I want to tell their story.
