Sewing nets for the PERDUE's
Donation protected
On April 29, 2016, the family of Constable Jeremy PERDUE was left to mourn the passing of one of their cornerstones of their foundation. "Today, we lost a man who served his country in the military, his community as member of the RCMP, and his family as caring father of five. A kind, genuine, and decent man, he believed that we are, each of us, given the opportunity to be a force for good in this world, and he set himself as that example. "[sdh]
Jeremy continuously trained for battle, whether it be for the military or for his 10 years of service with the RCMP. Unfortunately, no amount of training could prepare neither him nor his family for his year long battle with leukaemia.
Now, ready or not, Kira Perdue, a brave young mother, must embark on this journey of raising her five young children. And, although no amount of money will replace the foundation that once existed, it does give her a starting point to rebuild with.
The author of "The Last Lecture", Randy Pausch, aknowleged the impact that cancer would inevitably have on his family, stating, "somebody's going to push my family off a cliff pretty soon, and I won't be there to catch them. And that breaks my heart. But I have some time to sew some nets to cushion the fall. "
Jeremy took every opportunity to sew as many nets as he could in the short amount of time he was given. Now we are humbly asking for the support of the community to help continue the legacy of sewing these nets while Kira rebuilds.
