My trip to 2017 NIRSA Conference

Hey Everyone,
Those of you who don't know I came to Stephen F. Austin State University to become a high school soccer coach. During my time here at SFA I started working at the campus recreation center for intramural sports during my first semester here officiating soccer and from there I was hooked. There I met some great people who would eventually become my roommates and mentors. A year later I hit a low spot in my academic career, and when i thought maybe school wasn’t for me my family, friends, and mentor stepped in and convinced me to hang in there. I eventually bounced back and come to realize that I love the environment I work in on a daily basis. With that I decided to switch career paths and go into the campus recreation field so I too could one day help young adults the way this field has helped me. NIRSA is the leading organization for Campus Recs all over the country. Attending the conference this year would allow me the opportunity to further my career by helping obtain a graduate assistantship at a high level university. Where I would work to achieve my master’s degree. The Conference is in February of 2017 in Washington D.C. As you all know being in college isn’t cheap and neither are plane tickets so I ask if you have the means and are willing to help it will be greatly appreciated. The money that I receive will be used towards plane tickets, hotel, and registration fee for the conference. Thank you for your help and consideration.
