Bernard (Bernardino) Nieva

Bernadino Nieva, is an employee at Stop and Shop in Trumbull whose personal life has been thrust into the spotlight following a minor accident involving his bicycle and a Trumbull Police Commissioner’s motor vehicle.  “Trumbull Cares, and there are many great people here in Trumbull who after reading of Mr Nieva’s personal difficulties in the press and on social media after his accident, that really want to help, and this is one way we can do that.” said Fred Garrity

Due to this accident, and the negative actions then affecting Mr Nieva and his family, the standout has really been Mr Nieva’s plight. While suffering financial hardship, it is Mr. Nieva’s commitment to ride his bicycle back and forth to work a few miles a day to help support his many nieces and nephews, his handicapped parents, and himself all in one home, that has made so many Trumbull residents want to reach out and help this man and his family.
