Hi, I’m Becky, and I want to get back to making people laugh! For my whole life, I’ve worked entertaining audiences in all 50 states as a comedian-magician. It is my life’s passion, and I’m sad to say it has been taken from me. But there is hope! I can get back on the stage with the help of some angels like you.
Last year I wasn’t laughing when I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and atrial fibrillation. It knocked the wind right out of me, in more ways than one! A normal, healthy Ejection Fraction rate (medical jargon for how healthy your heart pump is) for an adult is between 50% and 70% - by the time I was diagnosed mine was at 18% - sounds like an E-ticket ride at Disneyland!
The cardiologist put me on medication, an icky low-salt diet, and a Life Vest that would shock my heart into functioning if I went into cardiac arrest. Scary stuff! I’ve followed all the doctor’s orders, and improved all the way up to 40%, but I am in urgent need of a surgery called cardioversion for a complete recovery.
In cardioversion, the doctors literally shock the heart back into a normal rhythm. I wasn’t too thrilled with the idea, but I even got a second opinion from another cardiologist, who confirmed it is medically necessary so I can get back to a normal life.
I have not worked in 8 months due to medical restrictions, and the medical costs have taken a huge toll. Although I have insurance, it is not nearly enough to help with the surgery. Before I even walk in the door I have to fork over a $5,000.00 deductible, and on top of that 20% of the total (roughly $3,400.00) AND on top of all of that, the doctor’s fee of $1,500!
Since I haven't worked and my 20% of a squillion dollars is still too much, I need help. If enough angels give just $10 that would help ease my stress and enable me to get back to work and make people laugh again!
