Jake Lipstraw Medical Fund

On Oct 1, Jake Lipstraw was heading to Tiffin on SR 19 to meet his brother so they could spend the day hunting together. As he was passing  through Clyde, he was t-boned by a car that ran a stop sign, flipping his truck, trailer and 4-wheeler numerous times before landing overturned in a field.  He was taken to Mercy Tiffin Hospital before being transferred to St. Vincent's in Toledo, Ohio. Thankfully his wife and daughter were not with him, but unfortunately a passenger in the car that hit him did not survive.

Jake's condition has proven to be worse than originally thought. He is suffering from a sprained meniscus, kidney contusions, multiple broken bones in his back, bulging disc and most recently a spinal bleed which could require emergency surgery in the next few days. The guy that we all know as being so tough is unable to move, both physically and by doctors orders, and is left laying in a hospital bed waiting for his body to heal.

His wife, Samantha Lipstraw, has been torn with the decision to leave Jake at the hospital to see their young daughter or stay and be by his side. Sam lives about an hour away from the hospital so it isn't easy to travel back and forth. As you can imagine, this has put a strain on the family financially until details regarding the accident and medical bills can be worked out with insurance companies and loss wages at work. Add that to the cost of gas, meals on the road and just a stressful situation in general and you would understand why this has been so difficult.

I kept asking myself what I could do to help and realized that if I were in this situation it would be hard for me to verbalize exactly what it was I wanted or needed and decided I just needed to do this! I know any assistance will help Sam and Jake tremendously as he begins to recover and fight the unknown right now. We are so lucky to have Jake here with us and I dont want the stress of the situation they are in to take away from that.

No donation is too small, and if you are unable to donate please say a prayer that Jake begins to heal and can be home with his daughter soon. Please also keep the families and victims of the other vehicle in your thoughts and prayers as well.

I know I speak on behalf of Sam and Jake when I say thank you from the bottom of our hearts for any donation, the thoughts, prayers, texts, meals, etc. that have already been given. It doesnt go unnoticed.

Thank you,
