Get my Mom to my retirement ceremony!
I am debating on whether or not just to call the ball on this and close the site down. After doing some research, it appears that the current withdrawal amount is actually $1100 away from our target. :(
Come to find out, each donation is charged a fee individually which adds up to a larger overall deduction from the total funds available. Again, :( I guess I should have read the terms a little more in detail before choosing this site to take the donations...but then again, it looks like every other social funding site that I can find charges about the same amount.
Well, it was a good try folks. I will leave the site up for a few more days in hopes that there will be some last minute donations. Thank you again to everyone that was a part of this.
Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart, to all of the friends, family, and family friends that have made donations. Please continue to share this in every way that you can so that we can achieve this goal.
Mom has been able to get a "reserved" ticket through a local travel agent, but the ticket has to be paid in full by June 10th. If we don't make that goal, she will lose that reservation. Just checking prices today, tickets are about $900 more than the reservation price.
Now for the math on the new goal:
Reserved ticket price: $2400
Plus 11% surcharge from gofundme.com: $2665
Plus 4% for PayPal international fund transfer: $2770
That means that we are about $885 short of our goal. Please continue to share on your Facebook pages, through Twitter, by sending out emails, or printing posters. If you have your own website, you can even get a widget for your website to let people know about the campaign. Remember, you might think that a $10 donation wouldn't help very much, but just ten people giving up a few lattes or snacks from the geedunk machine (Google it if you don't know what geedunk is) will make $100 dollars. If that happens 9 times, we will make our goal!
Every little bit counts.
Thanks again for
So amazing that you are about to reach your goal!! Congratulations you guys!!
I don't want everyone to think I am sitting back and just expecting donations to roll in!!! That last anonymous $100 off-line donation was from collecting and counting all the change I could find in the house and the car along with a couple of small jobs I could fit in while busy with getting the Winter Magic Parade Workshops and entry ready for the local school children! I appreciate everything Everyone is doing to help make this happen for our family!
I am sending huge hugs and a sincere Thank You to everyone who has...or will..donate! I am so priviledged to have such loving friends and family!
I am going to share this every day to help as much as I can.
