When I first moved to Albuquerque I didn't know anyone at all. I moved to downtown because it was so comfortable and alive. One of my first exploration walks led me to the old breezeway. I met artists, and travellers and lots of homeless people. They were kind, sold me their art and gave me gifts. I still have a really cool belt buckle a guy gave me because "I talked to him like a human being." The next night, I made some soup. It's my grandmas recipe that consists of what you have! If you asked her what was in it, she would say LOVE. So I call it Love Soup❤ It's delicious! I took the soup to the breezeway with a bunch of spoons and cups and had dinner with all the people I had met the night before and then some! I ran out of soup fast!! So naturally, the pot got bigger and bigger as time went on......we have now outgrown our soup pot! I like to include our youth, the street kids and punk rock kids in this venture. These kids willingly volunteer at our gives. Teaching compassion is so important! The best way to teach this is by setting the example with our own positive actions!! My goal is to make this mobile!! I would like to buy a food truck I have my eye on from a very nice lady that is willing to work with us on payments. I need to get all my non profit licensing and permits, and do what we do daily!! Its not going to be easy, but nothing worthwhile ever is!! I hope you find it in your heart to donate, raise funds, raise awareness for what we are doing!! We can all do something. Freeze water bottles and put them in your trunk to give people you see. Keep some old clothes in your car to offer to folks. Just wave and smile and acknowledge that we are all human beings and we are all deserving of decency. It's not hard to be kind!! Just do something to make this world a better place, even if only for a moment.
