Uppsala COP22 Minibus Delegation

Hey guys. We are part of the Uppsala University Delegation and we are making our way to Marrakech, Morocco for the UN Climate Change Conference 2016 and we need your help!
We are renting a minibus and traversing our way down from Uppsala, Sweden all the way to Northern Africa. We know this isn't the most conventional way of making the trip. We could easily take a quick flight there and back, wouldn't that be convenient? However, it is our tendencies to lean towards convenience whilst ignoring the consequences that have made the UN Climate Change Conference one of the most important meetings of world leaders in human history.
We are travelling via minibus as it is vastly more sustainable and will emit significantly less CO2 than every member of the delegation taking a seat on a flight. We have done the calculations and it would emit and estimated 0.168 tonnes of carbon per person to travel by minibus, train and ferry opposed to the 2.100 tonnes that would be emitted by flying. We are all studying or working at CEMUS which is the Centre for Environment and Development Studies. We are taking this mode of transport to send a message to the world, alternatives exist and if we want to live our lives in a more sustainable way we have to lead by example.
This is why we need your help, despite being more sustainable and a cleaner way of travelling, it is significantly more expensive than taking the aerial route. Your money will go towards paying for the rental of the minibus, tolls, insurance and the fuel required. Any support you could offer us would be so greatly appreciated by every one of us. We have requested the amount of €1,430 as that is the difference between the cost of a flight for 8 people and the estimated price of the rental of the minibus and attached costs.
We are attending the second week of the Climate Change Conference to better understand the inner workings of international negotiations on matters of global importance. By analysing the multi-faceted complexities of international relations, we will be better placed to influence the future world at different levels as we all strive for a state of sustainability.
During the trip we will organise actions in Hamburg and Geneva to raise awareness about the impending dangers of climate change and ways of mitigating and adapting to the potentially disastrous effects.
And of course, we will keep you up to date with everything that's going on during the trip and within the conference via a videoblog.
We will embark on our journey on the 9th of November and we can accept donations right up to this date. We will be eternally grateful for any support you can offer us. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
