Taking A Leap Of Faith
We would like to share the story of our journey. Thirteen years ago I met the love of my life. Shortly after we met, I suffered an extreme rupture of an ovarian cyst, which caused me to bleed internally. I underwent emergency surgery and he was by my side everyday. During that time I learned I had a severe case of endometriosis, and the chance of becoming pregnant was a 50-50 shot. We were married in 2009, and our families became one. I became a step mom to his daughter and 2 sons, and he welcomed my daughter with open arms. I felt blessed. In December of 2012 my husband and I wanted to try for a child of our own, that we could raise together. He had a vasectomy reversal in North Carolina, which proved unsuccessful. We put our faith in God that a miracle would happen. I myself went through numerous fertility procedures, and had another cyst removed last year. It wasn’t until I was told I could only attempt pregnancy through IVF that I really started to feel having a child might not be in the cards for us. Despite the obstacles we prayed each day and knew if it was meant to be, God would make it happen..
Last month we received a phone call from a family friend. Their daughter was 7 1/2 months pregnant, and cannot care for the baby and he would be immediately placed in foster care. After all the heartache my husband and I endured, God was opening the door for us to be parents again. Of course we would accept this child with open arms but we had to consider the medical complications and finances associated with them. The baby will be born with his liver outside the body. If all goes well his liver will be put back in his body 1-5 days after birth. He could spend up to a month in the hospital recovering. We heard God speak to us and we are willing to give this child a better life, a loving home and family.
As normal parents have 8 months to prepare we were only given one month. In such a short period of time, we are racking our brains to get fees and attorneys together. The baby was expected to come October 23 but as of the last doctor appointment he is now expected October 5th @ 10:00 am. If our story touches your heart, please help us raise money for this baby’s medical expenses and attorney fees. Above all we ask for prayers. Prayers, support and encouragement are greatly appreciated. Please help share this story and bring this child to a loving family and safe home.
