Replacing a Lost Home

"On September 28th, at 7:30 pm, a vehicle drove through my apartment.

The driver and his passanger fled the scene. Police called me, as I was working late that night, and informed me of the situation.

When I got home, the local news was outside filming. Police told me of what happened. And, two volunteers from the Red Cross came in to help me grab my clothes and offered to help me find a hotel to stay in for the night.

The next morning, Megumi Brandan came by and brought me coffee and donuts. She helped me sort through the bricks and dust. We managed to save a few things, and packed what we could into boxes.

The truck caused over $35,000 worth of damage to the building, and caused me to lose over $5,000 worth of personal belongings.

It will be several months before repairs are done, and the apartment is livable again. I do not think I will be moving back in."

An intoxicated driver recklessly drove into my friend's apartment last night and destroyed everything.  Stephen, my friend, was luckily working a late shift and wasn't there when it occurred. However the driver's car made it all the way into the living room and bathroom. Stephen salvaged a few things, but overall lost many valuables.   To make matters worse he didn't have renter's insurance. We are assuming he's going to have to file a lawsuit,  which Stephen has no means for. This campaign is to raise money for legal fees and to maintain Stephen for a while until he can get everything settled and situated into a new place. Any donations would be extremely appreciated.
