Funeral Expenses After West Nile
At the age of 36 he went into total renal failure in 1999. In March of 1999 he began dialysis and was put through all necessary testing to be put on the Transplant list. July 12th, 1999 he was put on the list and blessed just 16 days later with a perfect match kidney.
Fast forward 17 years and we are in the same situation. I won't put his entire life story but he has been through the ringer and back with medical issues. Our family has continued to experience medical issue after medical issue.
He began dialysis 3 times a week. August 2nd, 2016 he was placed on the Transplant list again. We are raising this money to help with copays and some of the other expenses that come along with this long journey we are just beginning. We greatly appreciate any donation.
He now has West Nile and is in the fight of his life to live! Please see the latest update for new info!
Thank you for your continued support!
Dad had gone out on short term disability and then long term due to complications with kidney failure. He was let go from his job in late August as a result. His life insurance policy went out sometime in September which we were unaware until after the fact due to being by his side at the hospital. His long term had not yet kicked in.
If you could please help with any amount, we would be forever grateful. We are now scraping to pay for his funeral costs and our hotel bill that allowed us to be in the same building with him 24/7.
On September 19th he was admitted into Baptist Integris with extremely high fever. After 4 days of rapid deterioration he code blued and was put on life support and put in a drug induced coma. He was removed from the sedatives after 3 days and to this day 10/3 he has still not woke up. Up until 10/2 we did not have a diagnosis, the CDC contacted my mother to let her know that he tested positive for West Nile Virus. With him being immune compromised this could be fatal. He will be having a Tracheotomy and a feeding tube put in his stomach this Thursday and Friday. We are hoping for the best and at this time are his bedside advocates.
Many people have reached out to see how they can help and honestly financially is the only thing we need at this time. We want to remain by his side to ensure he is getting the best care possible after some issues we have run into. We are staying in the hotel so we can be close due to the issues at hand.
Thank you for your continued support and prayers!
If I left anything out that you would like to ask, please feel free!
Since the last update dad has been through the ringer a few more times. Peritoneal Dialysis has had major issues, he falls in the 2% who have extreme drain pain. He recently had a procedure that hopefully will help. He has to wait a few more months before we attempt it again. 1 1/2 weeks ago he woke up to a swollen knee on the leg that has damage from the motorcycle accident years ago. After several trips to the E.R. due to excruciating pain they decided that because of his blood thinners he was hemorrhaging in his joint. He also found out as soon as he gets a kidney he will get a shiny new knee! They are now taking him off of his blood thinners. Due to the fact he has had pulmonary embolisms twice, they will be going in through his jugular vein tomorrow to put a screen in.
Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers! Thank you all for the continued support!
I am so sorry for your loss. God Bless You. I want to encourage you to contact his life insurance company and explain your circumstances and see if they will go ahead and pay his benefits. I am a nurse and I know in special circumstances and the fact that it just lapsed they may go ahead and pay.
Praying for my daughter and son n law
Continuing to send up prayers.
