Cushing St. Skatepark!!

New Cushing Street Skatepark
We are trying to build a new covered skatepark
beneath the underpass of the freeway at Cushing Street and the I-10.
Tucson is in need of this covered skatepark because:
- Heat and strong sunlight and rain
- Limited skateparks in the Tucson area
- Great location, away from residential areas
- It will be easily accessible by freeway or light rail
- Would be safer because the other park that is accessable during later hours can be a little dangerous because of gangs, homeless and drug use going on there
The city is granting us access to use the area so this is why we are now getting started for the funding of this project. We recently contacted Dreamland Skateparks from Oregon and they are on board for the building of the park. This park would also be the first "under-bridge" park in Arizona. There is a lot of good skate talent in this city but not enough accessable parks in or around this city to contribute to that. This park will benefit the city in many different ways!
Withing the next couple of months we will be creating fundraisers to help with the building of the park. Our goal is to hopefully come up with the funding by winter.
Any help we can get would be great and much appreciated.
