Injured S.F. SSGT Daniel Gilland
Donation protected
Green Beret, Daniel Gilland was injured in a parachute accident. He was attending Military Free Fall (HALO) training when accident occurred.
SSgt. Gilland is a decorated Marine Corps Sniper and Sniper School instructor, who had several combat tours in Iraq before he volunteered for Army Special Forces training, completed the rigorous selection training and deployed overseas.
Sgt. Gilland has sustained a compound fracture and broken femur in his right leg, a broken pelvis, ruptured spleen, torn colon, a fracture in his lower spine, and other internal injuries.
He has a long way to go and is facing many surgeries. He has been transported to a military hospital, away from his family. According to his wife, Leigh:
"We are grateful God has brought us to our next step in this season of healing. Now to figure out the best plan for reuniting our little family. ❤️
We love y'all ❤️ thank you for your prayers!"
The military covers a lot of costs, but his wife and kids are looking at an unexpected and uncovered expense of renting an apartment, along with other living expenses, to move across the country to be near SSgt Gilland during his long convalescence. It would mean the world to him, to know that his family can be by his side and not have to worry about how they will pay the expenses on the salary of an enlisted soldier. All donations will go directly to defray the costs for his family to temporarily relocate, to be near SSgt. Gilland as he begins the arduous process of treatment and recovery from severe injuries sustained while training to be the Best of the Best.
