Help Me Get My Student Life Back

Donation protected
My name is Md, Muzhafar. I’m a transfer student, am Geology undergrad senior in West Virginia University, United States. I live in West Virginia since last year and it has never been easy. My first year here was tough. Back in Fall 2015, the person I trusted the most took my monthly allowances and left me starving and loaded in bank debt (I had an overdraft account balance because of rent and utilities, school supplies, etc). I signed up for charity organization in WVU, they gave away free food. I survived with canned food and instant Ramen noodle for 3 months. Some of my friends noticed that I lost so much weight in just after few months I got here. It was tough, but thank god I survived.

Spring 2015, I had to move out from an old tumbledown house and the landlord took all the deposits claiming for miscellaneous damages which wasn’t even my fault. On the same day, his workers (who supposed to clean out the house) stole a box of mine that worth around $1k.  All my important stuff (electronic devices, documents, etc) were in there and luckily I’ve got my passport kept in my pouch. That was the biggest loss I’ve ever had in my entire life. Going through my first year here in WVU was truly something that I could never forget. Going to college with debt lingering over me, overnight part-time job to support my school and daily supplies, it was hard. Despite of the hurdles I’ve gone through, praise to God I still managed to get a satisfying result.

As summer passed by, I had all my debts paid off and I was thinking about starting a new life. But that turned out to be a broken dream. Early in the summer, I’ve had a lease signed with a campus housing but later on I changed my mind that I didn’t want to move in to that place. So the Apt management told me that I had to find somebody else to take over the lease and yes I’ve found a guy. In order to transfer the lease under his name, a $250 re-let fee has to be paid. Since I didn’t have that amount of money on that day, we had a deal to split in half. Unfortunately all of his expenses been drained for the first month’s rent, so he didn’t have the other half.

He told me to back off the re-leasing process and let him stay in the apartment under my name. This was the turning point, I wish I could turn back the time and not having the sympathy to let him stay as he had nowhere else other than the apartment. He even had the intention to stay in the apartment for the whole period of lease under my name. I resisted because I didn’t want to take the risk, so I let him stay until he gets the money ready. A few weeks later, the Apt management found out as he suspiciously breaking the apartment rules. He was kicked out of the place and cops were involved in this case. He was caught growing pot in the closet which was technically my closet. He brought his pit bull into the apartment unregistered. He lost the electronic key which costs $250. I was worried sick if the management would charge me for growing pot. I could end up be in prison, get a bad record for my visa and get expelled from college for something that I didn’t commit.

Since he was kicked out, as of right now I have two signed leases that I can’t terminate. I was looking for someone else to take over the place but it’s almost October and no one’s looking for a place to stay in the middle of the semester. I need to pay $400 for my current house and another $400 for the apartment every month until the spring semester starts. That consumes pretty much everything from my monthly expenses, plus I need to pay bills and school supplies (textbooks, geology tools, etc). I just need to raise some fund to pay rent of the vacant apartment until Sept-Dec and all the charges that was caused by that guy.  I’m taking 20 credit hours this semester with most of it are senior subjects, but I still work on weekend as a server to at least earn few dollars for groceries. I hope that I could do well in my classes this semester regardless what's going on right now. Most importantly, please pray that hopefully the charges for growing pot won't be on me.

I have no savings as I was about to start a new life and I didn’t come from a wealthy family. My parents have another 4 children to take care of, plus I didnt tell them about this as I don't want them to be worried. I’ve had consultations with a few authorized people (Embassy representative, student advisor) who all encouraged me to create a GoFundMe to raise some fund as soon as possible.

In the name of God, I swear that the fund will be used for the right purpose
. Please help me get my life back, I just want to go to college without thinking about things that aren't related to study. I can't stay focus in almost my classes with this happening right now. Your help and support mean the world to me, thank you for your time in advance. I’ll pray for all of you to be blessed for your kindness. Thank you so much.
