Dana, huge loving heart needs help

This was my Fathers dog Dana. He passed away two years ago and told me "take care of my dog".
He loved her very much. They were always together busily working alongside each other. My Dad trained her to scout for squirrels, how to sit up on a chair, how to give left and right hands; he was fascinated by the loyalty and the courage of Pitbulls. I remember him showing me some print outs of the most decorated dog in a war, yep..it was a white pit bull.
The reason for this campaign is because needs immediate care which I cannot afford. I willing to work, or trade, or open to suggestions for any help. Ive taken to the vet twice, but she is needing bloodwork, and also the vet believes she has heartworms, which he advised me would require two days in hospital and tbat it would be approx 1,000 dollars.
Please help any way you can. Anyone that has ever met Dana is always taken back but the amount of love she has to give. She is still fighting and has more life to live. When taken to the Dog park, she will sit and never leave my side. She can never ever recieve enough tender love from anyone..she will let you pet her all day long.
