Dawson's Dream

My name is Krissy Howell. As a lot of you know, I recently lost my 3 1/2 month old son, Dawson, to SIDS. It's the most indescribable unimaginable pain you could ever experience as a parent. I remember when I was pregnant looking online at the Owlet Baby Monitor. It's a sock that goes on the baby's foot and monitors their heart rate and oxygen levels as they sleep. It alerts your phone if anything is abnormal. They are pretty pricey (they cost $250) which is why I didn't order one. What I would give to have just ordered it anyway. I want Dawson's death to help other babies and spare parents of this pain. Dawson was born at 35 weeks, his lungs weren't fully matured yet, so he spent a week in the NICU. He struggled with sickness his few months he was here, bronchitis then pneumonia. I was so worried about his coughing and pneumonia I never even thought about SIDS. Premature babies are at a higher risk of dying of SIDS than a full term baby. So, I'm starting this GoFundme page and my goal is to raise money so that I can supply an Owlet Baby Monitor for as many new Moms with a baby in the NICU as I can. It will help them be able to go home with their premature baby and sleep more peacefully knowing their baby is being monitored at all times. I would appreciate ANY donation, it will mean so much to these Moms and it will mean so much to me. Thank you!
