82 Y/O Louisiana Flood Victim

Rex Tatum is an 82 year old resident of the Baton Rouge La. area and a victim of the Historic Flood that has recently caused major destruction and displacment of thousand of Louisiana Residents. Rex is a great friend of mine and I am trying to do everything I can to help him during this time of need. Rex lives in Saint Gabriel La. which is one of the hardest hit areas of the flood, mainly due to backflooding of the Bayou Manchack and Alligator Bayou area. Rex's home is STILL sitting in about 4 feet of flood water which occured on 8/19/2016.  He is a retired music teacher and lives on a fixed income from Social Security benefits,  his home was not in a "flood zone" and he had no flood insurance.  Parish Officials are working to pump the water out of his neighborhood but the longer it sits in water, the more damage will occur especially the health dangers of Mold and Mildew.  Rex is a wonderful man, friend and has always been there for so many people when they needed him. He needs ALL the help he can get to restore his hoome once the flood waters recede.  We do not know the extent of the damage at this point but it is safe to say that the entire house is flooded and will need to be gutted, floors removed and reinstalled as well as furnishing replaced that could nt be saved. Rex is the last living member of his family and he has no children to assist him in restoring his life and hme after this tragedy. Any amount you could donate would be a HUGE help so I am praying that if you are able to donate to saving his home that you will, we also need cleaning supplies, clothes, food etc. If you are unable to donate, we ask that you please keep him in your thoughts and prayers as you know this loss is hard on anyone but for someone of his age is more than hard, it is 82 years of your life drowning in mud waters and it is devastating. Please pray for Rex and all of Louisiana's people who are affected by this horrible tragedy. God Bless!!!

About the donations:
ALL donations will go directly to Rex Taum, deposited into his checking account.

What the donations will be used for:
ALL money  will be spent on restoring his him from the flood, including: gutting walls, tearing out carpet and flooring, replacing walls and floors, cleaning and restoring flood damged furniture and personal items.

Items such as, boxes, bubble wrap for moving his items out of the house prior to the gutting as well as clothes which are needed because most of his clothes and all of shoes were destroyed in the flood.
