Help Emettra Finish Senior Year!!!

Donation protected
I am a single mother and currently a senior at Michigan State University studying Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources Education. I entered this semester only having nineteen more required credit hours to take before I graduate. However, I found out two weeks ago  I was not awarded Financial Aid this Fall Semester 2016 to pay for my tuition.

Without financial aid, I am unable to attend school and Go Fund Me is my last option. The job I have barely covers for my monthly expenses and so I was heavily reliant on financial aid to help me to pay my rent and daycare costs for the semester as I strive to graduate.

Who am I? Sometimes the simplest questions still remain the hardest, most intellectual questions because I am still learning what it means to be me. My evolution to adulthood has incorporated the challenges of motherhood with a selfless self-discovery of single parenthood and finding out who Emettra Nelson really is. I am a proud single mother who has dreams of first making my life better for my family, and my community at large. I meet people like me all the time, striving to make a better life for themselves, their families, especially their children. I’ve been through many hurdles in my lifetime; I’m currently going through one now, which is completing college. My determination and my perseverance has led to where I am today, in college striving for a bachelors degree. School is something I value because I know that this will help to make an easier life for my child and I. Aside from my personal struggles, I value my community. I take pride in knowing that it only takes one voice to impact change so that people might live easier and less stressful lives. Having a degree would make me much more successful when trying to make a huge impact in other peoples lives.

Throughout my years of college, I’ve sought interest into learning ways to educate people about being sustainable. I believe a lot of the environmental issues in the world today, whether it is globally or locally, are concerns because a lot of people aren’t aware that how they operate throughout their daily lives effects every one. Focusing particularly in urban communities, these low-income areas have little to no education on sustainability and agriculture. They also have little to no access to recycle. There are a lot of problems that factor in when discussing urban communities and agriculture, but what I love most about this topic is that it has so much potential to flourish and this issue needs innovative people like me who are first, passionate about the people and their daily struggles. Secondly, passionate about taking action and informing people about sustainable practices and revitalizing broken communities. Thirdly, passionate about always learning what it means to be sustainable and eventually passing down a torch for successors after me to improve the way people live their daily lives.

I am desperately asking if there is anything you can do to help me so that I am able to take two classes. I need to raise a total of $6,000 as soon as possible.

I apologize for the misunderstanding, but September 26, 2016 is the date l needed to put a deposit down. However I still need to raise the money for school.

I've been through a lot of turmoil within the past few years and I strongly desire a better life and future for my three year old daughter and I. With the help of getting funding for this Fall Semester you would help me to pay for my classes so that I can graduate May 2017. Anything helps and if you arent able to donate, please share and keep me in your prayers! Thank you in advance!
