Marlenne vs. HLH: Help her Heal

Dear friends,
As some of you may (or may not) know, Marlenne is living with some serious health issues. And has been hospitalized from July 20 – 27, August 5 – September 7, and September 14 – 19 at Joseph Brant Hospital, where she is recieving the best care. Marlenne is currently diagnosed with some serious conditions:
· Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis (HLH) - a rare life-threatening condition that affect the bone marrow and is often caused by an inherited problem of the immune system. In patients with HLH, cells of the immune system don't work properly to destroy infected or damaged cells.
· Acute Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) - is an autoimmune disease. In this disease, the body's immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissue. It can affect the skin, joints, liver, brain, and other organs.
And while she’s smiling through the lung biopsy, liver biopsy, bone marrow biopsy, blood transfusions and chemotherapy this amazing woman and her family are struggling to make ends meet.
Her mother is taking a temporary leave of absence from work to help care for Marlenne’s two young sons (Roman, 3 & Henry, 1). And her spouse Paul continues to juggle the responsibilities of work while trying to be at her side as much as possible. And while very dear friends and family have rallied to provide emotional and spiritual support, life is not easy for this young family. Even with the love and support of family and friends, her family’s current financial situation is precarious. They have used all their resources and support.
Marlenne and her family need our help! Many of you have already asked how you can lend a helping hand. And so, here it is. If you have opened your heart, it is our hope that your donations will provide Marlenne and her family with a small boost in providing the essentials:
· Healthy, nutritious meals that support Marlenne’s healing
· Childcare once Marlenne’s mother returns to work
