I'm starting a buid of a Pietenpol Air Camper!
If you've seen me on the EAA forums then you may know my story but if not, here it is.
I'm currently a student at West Virginia University studying Management Information Systems in my sophomore year. I also currently serve in the West Virginia Air National Guard, just beginning my first enlistment of six years.
I succeed my grandfather (1), father (2), mother (3), and oldest brother (4) in their service (2,3,4 still in service.) For most of my life, my father as been a pilot for the USAF and has no doubt assisted in the development of my facination with aviation. While being colorblind, I am unable to follow along in his foot steps of flying in the Air Force (my brother is on the same boat.) This said, I have found another way to explore the dream of flying, while at the same time offering my family a longterm project that we can build together and soon enough fly together! I am also currently taking steps to pursue an LSA (Light Sport Aircraft) pilot certificate.
This said, I already have the blueprints to build the plane, but am now looking for funds to buy raw material!
Through the combined skills of my grandfather, father and myself, I am all to confident in a successful build. But I intend for this to have more than just a family value. I hope to inspire other West Virginias who have settled for too much and to encourage them to chase their dreams! I would hope to possibly even create an EAA chapter in West Virginia and own and operate a small grass airstrip ;).
Any value of donation no matter how small would allow this all to happen just that much quicker and it would be very much appreciated!
I plan on getting a youtube account setup so you can track our progress and will have it posted ASAP!
