James Biar, Lost Boy/Found Man of Sudan, Loving husband, Adoring father, CU graduate, King Sooper's employee, provider, and friend of so so many.
James passed away Sunday, September 18th 2016, leaving behind his wife Rachel, and 5 children: Yar, Aguil, Dau, Ngon, and Adut (ranging from 8 years to 8 months). James was found to have acute Leukemia and passed away from a brain aneurysm. This tragic event had no warning signs and was a complete surprise to friends and family.
We are raising funds for Rachel and the kids to provide them with financial support.
James had an infectious smile and enjoyed the company of everyone he met, whether it was in his checkout line at King Soopers or at a Sudanese event in Boulder. James loved life, was adventurous and cared about everyone. Based upon his childhood where he walked thousands of miles from his home in S Sudan to Ethiopia and then Kenya, this is no surprise to those who knew him. He survived the crossing of the crocodile-ridden Nile watching many friends and family perish, and years in the refugee camp in Kenya. Life was precious to him.
James arrived in Boulder in 2001 as a refugee from S Sudan arriving directly from Kakama Refugee Camp in Kenya.
James integrated into the community quickly. He was a CU graduate with degrees in Mathematics and Economics. James and his family live in a Habitat for Humanity home in N Boulder and are an example of what perseverance and determination can do !
Rachel and the kids will need our help. Assisting them financially is a need, not a want. Would you please help?
