Animal Rescue Efforts
I'm currently caring for (as of Jan, 2019) 18 animals after many months of failed attempts to find whatever previous owner might have existed. I expect more will find their way here, although, I know other rural residents have this happen, too.
Finally, I will not foster any indifference and cruelty to these animals that others sometimes suggest or practice. These no-longer wanted pets have done nothing but try to return affection/love to human beings. And as long as I can, I will not ignore their needs. My hope is that one day someone will become their family. Until then, I am their family and this is my GoFundMe effort to help with food and increasing vet bills.
For the people who help, I appreciate each instance you give assistance and support to these rescue efforts. Whether donating food or donating money, you are helping make sure very real and "worth-loving" cats and dogs are given whatever we can offer. We do the best we can with what we've got. This is why I continue to ask for people for their help. This is why I ask you for your help.
Some of the cats and dogs need veterinary care, and this is expensive and out of my reach by myself. My personal budget doesn't cover the costs. If you can help in any way, then I'm asking you to go to my GoFundMe page. The money does indeed go to help the animals.
[The photo is of "Chocolate". So named because of the chocolate around her mouth. I told her that I named her this because everyone loves chocolate.]
Please, consider helping to cover the cost of food, medicine and veterinary fees. While I'm able to cover a major portion of the costs, because of your donations which all of you friends provide, we are able to help give these loving cats and dogs food and care - and a life that I hope is way better than their being strays around dumpsters. All the animals that *We* care for here, have been strays or dumped. Please give if you can.
Relationships grow, especially since I've given all of them names. Each of them has their own personality, likes and dislikes. They all have their own unique voices, as well. I can hear their voices and know who is making the sound.
I started rescuing after I finished my bach. degree in college. I found 2 small puppies on the side of the road in rural Texas. My car pulled over and I caught them both - no houses around - no one I asked claimed them. One soon passed away, but Sobig, the other one, was with me for almost 16 years. Sobig became famous at my graduate school, because I took her to school with me from time to time. She was the only one with me for all her years, so I do know what it's like. I can't yet find a digital photo of her, but I hope to post one when I can find one.
(The photo below is of "Miracle" - so named because as a kitten, she disappeared for 36 hours. With coyotes and foxes nearby, I prayed asking for a miracle in finding her and she appeared within 60 seconds.)
