Beckie's Apartment Fund

Having previously lived in North Carolina, I am now living in Washington state in hopes of pursuing a brighter future for myself through a new start. My father left while I was still an infant, leaving me with an abusive mother and her boyfriend from whom I still have scars from both physical and mental violence enacted upon me. When I first came to Washington through the good graces of a friend, the neighbors in the duplex she lived in found out. Her family was then reported to the landlord by those neighbors for having gone over the occupancy limit on their lease, forcing me to look for new housing. My father initially made contact when he found out about the situation and offered to help but then soon withdrew from his promises of paying for an apartment and tuition for community college, and now I'm here. As of this moment, I am currently making minimum wage at a restaurant, a wage that could not possible afford both housing and an education. Through this campaign, I hope to gather funds within the next few months to afford at least an apartment I can live in while I work and study towards a GED. For the time being I will be living in a homeless shelter. After going through so many obstacles in my life up until this point, I would be so grateful to find some stability and assurance.
