Captain Alex

The clip above is from a documentary about an adventurous spirit named Alex Rust. He pursued his dreams and sailed around the world in his boat named "Bubbles" at the young age of 27.  However, he knew there was more to life than just traveling the world.

Alex wanted to have kids. Lots of them. That's why in 2013 he set off for India in hopes of finding an orphanage that he could support. Unfortunately he tragically passed later that year before he could do so.

By donating to the Alex Rust Memorial Fund, you will make it possible for a child in need to experience the type of love, joy, and inspiration that Alex surely would have tried to bring them. By donating today, your funds will go to support an orphanage in the Northeast Region of India called Eden Gardens. Here, Kohima Jesuits have been sponsoring and providing for the neediest local children in Khuzama village since 1975. The children are not only given the comforts of care and facilities, but are also given a social, religious, and agricultural education to induce an ‘economic awakening’ and inspire hope.

It costs around $1 a day support to support a child in India.  Alex sailed nearly 1000 days before the age of 28. Help us raise $28,000 to support 28 children for 1000 days.

“…Bubbles is not over. For Bubbles is more than just a boat, Bubbles is an idea, a journey. And just as bubbles float through the air with that magical shine that captivates a small child, so did this trip unlock the magic and small child in each of us. Float on, Bubbles…float on.” -Alex Rust on his final blog post
