2nd Annual Let It Fly Classic
We coming BACK-TO-BACK.
On behalf of The Let It Fly Classic in conjunction with Chelsea Black Community (CBC), we are hosting the Second Annual Let It Fly Classic Basketball Tournament.
Again, all proceeds received from the event will be contributed towards a scholarship for Chelsea High School students in the Class of 2017. The tournament will be on August 13, 2016, at Highland Park, 30 Willow Street, Chelsea, MA. The games and entertainment will begin at 9am until 5pm.
Welcome Back! Our names are Kyle Umemba and Cesar Castro. We are lifelong residents of Chelsea, who are also actively involved with the youth of Chelsea and are dedicated to inspiring them to go to college. Cesar and I have witnessed many positive changes within our city, yet, there continue to be setbacks many youths of Chelsea experience as well.
Last Year we made a collective effort to invest in our youth and break the cycle that continue to allow the youth of Chelsea to fall by the waist side. That effort was the Let It Fly Classic. A ONE DAY BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT THAT PROVIDES KIDS WITH A GETAWAY FROM THEIR DAILY LIVES.
During this event, there will be:
Food and Drinks
Live Entertainment and DJ
Voter Registration
Meet Local Officials, and Local Businesses
Once again we are looking for your support and donation in order to ensure that the tournament and its purpose will be successful.
Last year was a true testament to what could happen when a community focuses its energy and unites for a good cause. Our goal stays the same, a members of this great and budding community, I believe you will be excited about an opportunity to encourage educational growth amongst our most precious citizens. Individuals that someday will be leaders within our community.
Any donation will be greatly appreciated. As many scholarships will be awarded as donations to the scholarship fund will allow. Last year we were able to award three scholarships to the following graduates: Marianna Kamara, Katherine Cabral and Jonathan Gomez-Pereira .
